Goal: to develop a guiding document targeted to the national and local governments regarding goals, strategies and arrangements to mobilize financial resources to cover the country's needs for mitigation and adaptation
Duration: 10 months Users: Colombian national and local governments, private sector, financial sector, consultants, Climate Development Knowledge Network Methods: design thinking, co-creation workshops, semi-structured interviews, multi-stakeholder dialogues Results: the final document was approved by the Climate Finance Committee at the end of 2017 and it is the guide for their activities |
Tropical Forest Conservation Agreement 2nd Investment Strategy
Goal: To identify the investment priorities for the Tropical Forest Conservation Agreement Trust fund for the period 2011-2015
Duration: 7 months Participants: Local communities in three geographic areas, the Colombian national government, The Nature Conservancy, Conservation International, the World Wildlife Fund, and the U.S. Agency for International Aid Methods: in-context interviews, non-participant observation, survey Insights: projects funded should contribute not only to forest conservation but capacity bulding and local institutional development. Women and children have a critical role in such processes. Results: based on my research a strategy document was developed, discussed and approved, setting conservation goals, strategic actions, and investment guidelins for USD 3 million. |
